South Huddersfield Road and Trail Series

After spending so much time in lockdowns of varying lengths, it's been good to get out there and snap a few runners. I promised myself that I'd stick to less than 1,000 frames to cut down on editing time. This series, like many other races post covid, have seen a manageable number of entries.
My favourite race has to be the Windmill 6. With a made to measure backdrop, it has to be one of the easiest races to take photographs at. Not that the runners would agree with my choice of position, gasping up the hill doesn't make for a good look.
I managed to recce all but one of the races, trying to find a spot that would give me and the runners a decent image. Having a "friend" to accompany me on those forays would have been a great help. Snapping someone within the frame, enables me to work out the best composition available.
The Stairway To Heaven was a bit traumatic, due to the overlap of competitors on the downhill section of the course. Half marathon quickies were starting their second lap as the trail runners were just coming up the hill. Some compositions worked better than others and I've made notes for next year's race, if I'm still around.
If you can post a "thanks" when the images go up, it's much appreciated. It only takes a few seconds and is really appreciated by myself and other photographers. "LIKE" Nah!
